Job Title: Solid Waste Worker
Reports to: Solid Waste Supervisor
Salary Grade: 1
FLSA: 26-week Non-Exempt
The Seasonal Worker performs work of a manual nature, which does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or an acquired skill or previous experience in order to do an effective job. Work season is from April-September. Work is generally performed under the immediate direction of a supervisor, but many types of work assigned may be very routine and repetitive in nature and after once learned can be carried on without difficulty and only under general supervision.
Essential Functions:
They will be responsible for assisting picking up large trash items from alleys, help maintain shop clean, and perform minimal tasks as assigned.
Work Environment:
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
- Lift arms above shoulder level.
- Travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces.
- Move heavy objects (50 pounds or more) short distances (20 feet or less).
- Move light objects (less than 20 pounds) long distances (more than 20 feet).
- Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time.
Schedule
Monday-Friday 7am-4pm; 38 hours a week
Work months of April– September.
