Journeyman Stormwater Utility Worker - City of Coffeyville
The City of Coffeyville is seeking a Journeyman Stormwater Utility Worker to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the operation, construction, repair and maintenance of the stormwater utility systems and provide technical assistance as a member of a utility crew. Successful candidate will: participate in operational activities of the stormwater utility system; operate a variety of equipment, hand tools, safety equipment and computers; participate in the production and maintenance of stormwater maps; maintain various logs of maintenance and repair activities; perform regular testing of equipment, machinery and stormwater pump stations. Qualified candidates will have three years of increasingly responsible experience performing stormwater utility operation and maintenance work. Education and training should include equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and demonstration of the ability to obtain appropriate certifications included in any stormwater apprentice program adopted by the City of Coffeyville, within the timeframes established by the City of Coffeyville. Additional licensing and requirements include possession of, or ability to obtain the following: valid Kansas commercial driver's license, valid Journeyman Certificate in any stormwater apprentice program adopted by the City of Coffeyville, within the timeframes established by the City of Coffeyville, valid competent person certification in confined space and Certified Stormwater Inspector Certification from the National Stormwater Center within one year.
Applicants must be willing to meet the City of Coffeyville's residency requirement of living inside the State of Kansas within 25 miles of City Hall, 102 W. 7th Street. Position will remain open until filled. Starting salary is based on experience and training, starting at $15.16/hr to $20.48/hr.
