Maintenance Worker I - City of Maize

The City of Maize Public Works Department is accepting applications for a fulltime Maintenance Worker position. This position performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in construction, grounds maintenance, and custodial duties. It requires manual labor in all weather conditions. You must posses a valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred) and be at least 18 years of age.

Salary Range:    $16.08 - 22.73 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Perform construction and general maintenance work
• Perform unskilled and semi-skilled task
• Perform grounds maintenance using City equipment and tools
• Perform proper maintenance on City equipment and tools
• Promote the good will of the City
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Skills:

• Ability to perform manual labor
• Ability to work in emergency conditions
• Ability to operate a variety of maintenance equipment and tools safely and efficiently
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
• Ability to life and carry items weighing up to 90 pounds
• Ability to communicate and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to possess and maintain a valid CDL Kansas Driver’s License with an air brake endorsement
• Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance

• High School graduate or equivalent
