Minimum Starting Rate: $15.81/hr depending on experience
Full time position. Responsible for driving a semi to haul trailers full of waste to the regional solid waste landfill, and manual and semi-skilled work operating equipment to separate recyclables or contaminants from the solid waste stream.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Drive a semi to haul trailers full of waste to the regional solid waste landfill
- Drive a semi to haul metal bins and convenience area roll off bins
- Inspection of vehicles, semi-tractor trailers pre and post inspections
- Preventative maintenance of equipment
- Adhering to all D.O.T. regulations of traffic safety protocols.
- Maintain and service vehicle as needed
- Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
- Be polite and courteous to motorists you encounter on the road
- Use tools such as precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
- Diagnose machine, equipment, infrastructure malfunctions
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
- Prepare time and work reports
