Pay
Public Works Technician I: $20.40 – $25.47/hour
Public Works Technician II: $22.62 – $28.25/hour
Pay placement is based on qualifications and experience.
What You’ll Do
• Maintain and repair City streets, parks, and utilities
• Perform street patching, sealing, and pothole repairs
• Install and maintain traffic signs, barricades, and cones
• Operate mowers, weed eaters, sprayers, loaders, trucks, and other equipment
• Maintain and inspect City vehicles and equipment
• Assist with tree removal, snow removal, road projects, and traffic control
• Assist with park mowing and maintenance
• Perform manual labor and general Public Works duties
• Respond to weather-related and other emergency needs
• Provide courteous and professional service to the public
What We’re Looking For
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Kansas Driver’s License
• One year of related experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
• Ability to read and follow instructions, maps, manuals, and safety procedures
• Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work as part of a team
• Pass a background check
