Director of Information Technology - City of Coffeyville

The City of Coffeyville is seeking a skilled and proactive Director of Information Technology to manage and enhance the City’s information systems infrastructure. This critical role involves coordinating the city's information systems services, including computer operations, systems analysis, and programming and works closely with staff to optimize applications and procedures, providing vital technical and professional support to the Finance Director and City Manager.
Ideal candidate will have experience in: assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and operational methods, identifying opportunities for improvement, and directing the implementation of these changes. Technical support to city staff is a key function of this position. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, determining systemic or operational problems, recommending training programs, and suggesting equipment purchases and system upgrades. Budget management is also essential, as you will participate in developing and administering the information systems budget, forecasting funds for equipment, materials, and supplies, and managing procurement processes. Rapport and relationships with both internal stakeholders, vendors, and committees and professional groups adjacent to the City is essential. Staying current with information systems trends via continued training is expected. Experience in directing cybersecurity management systems is preferred.
Preferred qualification is a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of work history in information systems coordination, and supervisory experience. Proficiency in systems analysis, troubleshooting, vendor management, budget management, and strong project coordination skills are essential.
Salary dependent upon experience and qualifications between $75,000-$100,000 annually plus benefits including KPERS Retirement, vacation, sick leave and more.
