EMT/AEMT 

Taking application for full-time and PRN (on-call) Shifts. When no full-time positions are available, we keep an applicant pool for interested applicants to be considered when a vacancy occurs.

The full-time positions work a 48/96 rotation. Enjoy the opportunity to work 48 hours followed by 96 hours off - then the shift repeats.  (eg:  Work 8 a.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Wednesday, then off work from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday through 8:00 a.m. Sunday). Pottawatomie County does NOT have a residency requirement for EMS personnel.

Minimum Starting Rate dependent on position:  (EMT = $13.45/hr; AEMT = $14.40/hr), PRN is paid at 10% above the minimum

Position Responsibilities:  Provides emergency medical treatment in a pre-hospital setting, performing basic life support and ALS to the sick and injured.

Education/Experience Required: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or graduation from a vocational school is preferred.  Must be Kansas Certified and/or hold National Registration as an EMT/AEMT

Special Requirements: Possession & maintenance of a valid Kansas Driver's License.

Must have and maintain a clean driving record for this position. A “clean” record is defined as: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (such as but not limited to DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.) that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) traffic infractions (such as but not limited to speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.) that are less than one year old.
